Join us at the Hagaman Memorial Library, 227 Main Street on Tuesday, January 31 at 6:00 p.m. for a discussion on Climate Change. Great Decisions is a national, civic-education program sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association that encourages participants to:

  • Learn about U.S. foreign policy and global issues
  • Discuss multiple viewpoints in a group setting

Established in 1918, the Foreign Policy Association is a not-for-profit, education organization and sponsor of the Great Decisions program.
Discussion topics include Changing Demographics, Outer Space, Climate Change, Russia and the U.S., Myanmar and ASEAN, Quad Alliance, Biden's Agenda and more! The ideological divide in the United States on the subject of climate change has impeded progress in curbing greenhouse emissions. But extreme weather events at both ends of the thermometer have focused attention on the consequences of inaction. What role will the United States play in future negotiations on climate?

The group discussion leader and facilitator is David Thomas. David is a retired Lawyer with high level degrees including a Law Degree from Harvard, a PhD in Religion, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

The group is free and open to young adults and adults. To become a member of the group, sign-up at Hagaman Memorial Library's adult circulation desk and check out a copy of the Great Decisions briefing book or get a copy of the article on Climate Change. You can also sign-up by calling the library at 203-468-3890 or by contacting Chris at chemingway@hagamanlibrary.org.

Extra parking for evening and weekend library events is available in the East Haven Town Hall parking lot on 250 Main Street (across the street from the library), in the KeyBank parking lot next to the library (after 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays and after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays) and in the Stop and Shop lot behind the library, accessible from Messina Drive.
