East Haven: Join us at the Hagaman Memorial Library, 227 Main Street on Saturday, October 7 at 2:00 p.m. in-person at the library or over Zoom for a special workshop for writers! Is there a book in you? You don't have to settle for self-publishing. It's possible to be offered a traditional publishing deal. Let two authors who've done it show you how! Velya Jancz-Urban and Ehris Urban are authors of four traditionally published books, including How to Survive a Brazilian Betrayal (Green Writers Press, 2019), and Dare to Be a Green Witch (Llewellyn Worldwide, 2021). Ehris is a green witch, author, herbalist and holistic nutritionist. Velya is a vivacious teacher, public speaker, author, and herstory unsanitized expert.Get some great suggestions from Velya and Ehris to help you land your own book deal. The way books should be written has changed - and Velya and Ehris will help you write a book that follows the 2023 blueprint formula. The most important thing to remember is that traditional book publishers publish books for profit.

This program is free and open to everyone and is offered over Zoom and in-person at the library. To sign-up to attend in-person, call the library at (203) 468-3890. To register to attend over Zoom and have the Zoom link emailed to you, send an email to Cynthia at: cgwiazda@hagamanlibrary.org

Extra parking for evening and weekend library events is available in the East Haven Town Hall parking lot on 250 Main Street (across the street from the library), in the KeyBank parking lot next to the library (after 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays and after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays) and in the Stop and Shop lot behind the library, accessible from Messina Drive.
