EHHS Fall sports kicked off their season on September 8, 2022. The season started with soccer and volleyball on Thursday and then the football game followed on Friday. The season starts in late August and ends in late October, beginning of November.

Football

The football team had their first game on Friday September 9, 2022, with a score of 59-30. The football team plays a total of 10 games each season, 5 home and 5 away. This year the team is looking forward to a big season. “I think we have what it takes to make it to the playoffs,” says senior captain Dom Salato. This year's team has great chemistry and it is shown in their games. They won their first game on Friday against Bethel 28-27.

Boy’s Soccer

The boys soccer team kicked off their season on September 8th in a game against Branford, where they lost 3-1. The team practices six days a week for two hours, and the players and coaches feel that these practices are beneficial to the team.

Girls Soccer

The soccer team consists of 30 girls and are changing it up this year with their new and returning players. Although they lost their first game, they are planning on going all the way this season.

Volleyball

The volleyball team practices everyday after school from 3-5, and all work together to make each game count. The girls have great chemistry on and off the court, and plan on winning more games this season. “Everyone puts in their best effort for every game and every practice which is definitely helping us,” says senior captain Nicole SanGiovanni.

Cross Country

Although the team may only consist of one athlete, that’s not stopping them from doing well. Since it’s just one athlete the workouts and training sessions are more one on one. The practice consists of running 2-3 miles and takes place everyday after school and she has to run once on the weekend.

Since the season is still just beginning, not many of the students have been able to get the different games. 90% of students have been to at least one game and 10% haven’t been to a game but plan on attending one later in the season.
